Registration fees are as follows:
  • Early ​Bird Registration - through 31 August 2015:
    • Regular - $200 ​​CDN
    • ​Student/Early ​Career ​Researcher* ​- ​$100 ​CDN
    • Banquet ​(​October ​28, ​2015) - ​$50 CDN per person ​for ​Regular ​Attendees ​and $25 CDN per person ​for ​Student/Early ​Career ​Researchers (this fee does not change after 31 August)
  • Starting on 1 September 2015:
    • Regular ​- ​$250 ​CDN
    • Student/Early ​Career ​Researcher* ​- ​$150 CDN
*Early Career Researchers are defined as being less than 5 years post-degree.  You will be asked to provide your school/university and date of graduation during the registration process.

In addition to meeting hall rental and A/V support, the Registration fee covers all lunches and coffee breaks during the Forum, the Tuesday evening Ice Breaker, the Indigenous event, and the Data Management Workshop.

13% HST (Canadian federal and provincial sales tax) applies to all transactions.

Accommodation: Block reservation deadline 21 September 2015 

A room block has been arranged at the Delta Waterloo ( for the reduced rate of $149/night.

Travel Funding

Travel ​funding ​support ​is ​being ​secured ​from ​several ​of ​our ​sponsoring ​institutions ​and ​will ​be ​targeted ​toward ​use ​by ​students/early career researchers ​and ​Indigenous ​participants. ​ ​Priority will be given to participants who submit an abstract to present at the Forum.   Participants ​with ​research ​support ​are ​expected ​to ​use ​their ​own ​funding. ​ If you need funding, please contact the Local Organizing Committee (ccin@uwaterloo.caas soon as possible but no later than 31 August 2015.  Please indicate in your request how you will benefit from participating in the Forum.   We ​apologize ​in ​advance ​that ​the ​budget ​for ​grants ​is ​limited, ​as ​it ​may ​not ​be ​possible ​to ​fulfill ​all ​requests.

The Swedish Polar Research Secretariat provides a travel grant to early career researchers (doctoral or first-time postdoc) to participate in the Polar Data Forum. See for further information and application details.
